VCARA and the SLIS Colloquia Team welcome AJ Kelton. AJ Kelton will lead a Town Hall Meeting in VCARA on SLIS Island in Second Life on the topic of Emerging Instructional Technology and Design. This Town Hall style meeting will begin with a brief introduction of the presenter and a statement on his philosophy and vision of emerging instructional technology and design. The majority of the session will be dedicated to questions from the audience and the presenter’s response.

Brief Introduction to AJ Kelton (SL: AJ Brooks)

AJ Kelton is the Director of Emerging & Instructional Technology for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He is involved in mobile technologies, social media, games, and virtual worlds for education and founded the Virtual Worlds Education Roundtable. AJ is a doctoral candidate in the Educational Communication and Technology program at New York University where his research is focused on the assignment of students in learning work groups.

This presentation will take place on Friday, November 1st at 12 noon SLT (Pacific).

The next VCARA planned event will take place on Wednesday, November 20th. VCARA welcomes Jason Kaltenbacher, Records Management Consultant and Adjunct Instructor in the School of Library and Information Sciences at San Jose State University, as a Guest Speaker. The time of the event is tentatively set for 7:00 pm SLT (pacific) to 8:00 pm.
