Are you interested in a career in public libraries? Are you nervous about the hiring process? Never fear, Career Development is here!

On Wednesday, March 15 at 5:30pm Pacific, Jesse Walker-Lanz will be participating in our latest Career Webcast (yes, “latest” implies there’s more! Check out the archives.). Jesse is the County of Los Angeles Public Library’s Library Administrator and head of Adult & Digital Services, so he has a lot of insight into the ins and outs of applying, interviewing, and getting a job.

Jesse started his library career shelving books at a small public library in Ohio. Since then, he’s moved up through the ranks of paraprofessional and professional librarian positions. Now, as an administrator for one of the largest and most dynamic public libraries in the country, he’s promised to share All The Insider Information about the hiring process and what public libraries look for in potential employees.

Every Career Webcast I’ve attended has been really interesting, full of new information, and interactive. So mark your calendar and brainstorm questions. What do you want to know about getting hired and working at a public library? Join me in learning from Jesse Walker-Lanz tomorrow – that’s Wednesday, March 15 – at 5:30pm Pacific in Collaborate.

Individuals requiring real-time captioning or other accommodations should contact Dr. Sue Alman as soon as possible.

See you there!
