Another Great Opportunity Available Through SLIS
Are you interested in youth librarianship? You are welcome to participate in ALASC (SLIS student chapter of the American Library Association) events such as the upcoming young adult author interview with Jessica Warman. Below are the details provided by ALASC.

Come celebrate Teen Reads Week with ALASC on October 20th via Elluminate at 6:00 p.m. PST! We will begin with a brief presentation highlighting this year’s “Picture It” campaign and explore the importance of promoting teen literature. We will then introduce Jessica Warman, author of Breathless, Where the Truth Lies, and Between who will share with us some insight into her most recent work Between and her focus on young adult literature. There will be an open discussion forum following the interview where Jessica will take your questions.
Jessica Warman is the author of Breathless, which received three starred reviews and was an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, Where the Truth Lies, and Between, which has been sold to publishers in eleven countries so far. She attended boarding school (where her experiences inspired her to write the first draft of Breathless when she was 18) and earned her MA in Writing from Seton Hill University. She lives outside Pittsburgh with her husband and their two daughters. When she isn’t writing, Jessica loves distance running, reading, and daydreaming about leaving the suburbs to move back to the city.
