Canadian Government Developing Cloud Computing Strategy–focus on keeping data in Country

Cloud services present opportunities for public and private organizations to do more with less in terms of in-house technology and support. But there are drawbacks. The Canadian government is currently developing a cloud computing usage policy that seeks to require cloud vendors to store any non-public, personal or sensitive data and information within Canada. This includes backup data and disaster recovery locations.
The proposal includes contractual clauses that can be used when entering into contracts with cloud service providers. Read more here.
