MARA Faculty to Attend SAA Conference

Going to the Society of American Archivists conference in Portland, Oregon? Catch up with iSchool faculty members and students during our events.
The 2017 Society of American Archivist conference (ARCHIVES 2017: alike/different) will be held in Portland, Oregon, from July 23-29. If you are planning to attend the conference, consider making time for the following:
- Thursday, July 27, 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Graduate Student Poster Presentations. SJSU students Lauren Goss and Rebecca Leung will each be presenting a poster in the exhibit hall.
- Friday, July 28, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Session 408 – Social Media vs. Open Government: Similarities, Differences, and Impact on Records Management Practices. The MARA Program Coordinator, Dr. Patricia Franks, will chair this discussion; iSchool instructor Dr. Michelle Chen is a scheduled speaker; and MARA Program Advisory Committee member Geof Huth will moderate the discussion.
- Friday, July 28, after 5 p.m.: Dr. Franks will host a get-together/dinner with students. If you are interested in attending, please get in touch with Dr. Franks and let her know. You can also reach out via the MARA Facebook Group.
