Alumna Anne Caputo Named President-Elect of SLA
The Special Libraries Association (SLA) recently announced the results of its Board of Directors election and Anne Caputo, Dow Jones’ Executive Director of learning & Information Professional Programs, was named president-elect of the 12,000 member global association of researchers and information professionals. When her term begins in January 2009, Anne will participate in the development of strategy and outreach for this key professional association which represents librarians, researchers and other information professionals around the world. Anne is a 1976 graduate of the School of Library and Information Science at San José State University and a member of the iSchool Forty for Forty Outstanding Alumni named in November 2007. (See iSchool Forty for Forty Alumni Celebration – November 29, 2007.)
I am honored to be elected to this position by my professional colleagues. This is a wonderful testament to the knowledge and experience I gained in my iSchool studies and the respect SJSU graduates hold in this important market. Serving SLA in this capacity offers a great opportunity for me to work with my global colleagues on issues important to information and research functions within organizations.
