12 Curriculum development is a core responsibility for faculty (i.e., faculty should be involved in either the development or the decision-making for the online curriculum choices). Faculty members are integral in both the development and decision making for all online curricula.
Deficient Developing Accomplished Exemplary
The School’s Curriculum and Program Development Committee, comprised mostly of faculty members, has two responsibilities that specifically relate to this item:
- Monitor and review the development, implementation and delivery of iSchool programs
- Propose new programs and recommend approval of new courses
The course proposal process is documented in the Faculty Handbook.
The entire full-time faculty review course proposals and approve them during the quarterly faculty retreats. Regular curriculum reviews are carried out.as part of the curriculum review cycle -calendar shown in Course Development and Instructional Design 3.
