Students in special session MLIS or MARA can take up to 6 units of INFM classes as electives toward their program plan. MLIS students must have successfully completed all MLIS core courses (INFO 203, 200, 202, 204) before requesting an INFM class on the form.

Use this form to request an INFM course. Because not every course topic runs each semester, you should check the INFM schedule of courses offered for the upcoming term before submitting this form. Courses are  $592 per unit for the AY 2024 – 2025 and $622 per unit for AY 2025 - 2026. The classes have different start and end dates that are reflected on the INFM Schedule of Classes. MARA students must first contact their MARA Program Coordinator to receive permission to take an INFM class before completing this form. Our Student Services department will get back with you regarding availability of INFM courses.

Submit Summer 2025 requests beginning on Mar. 18, 2025. Summer MySJSU registration closes on May 28, 2025.

Submit Fall 2025 requests beginning on April 15, 2025. The form will close for fall requests on Aug. 8, 2025.

Requestors are required to demonstrate a strong technical foundation by having completed coursework and/or work experience with either 1) HTML5 and CSS, 2) a programming language, or 3) in information systems.
