Using the timeline tool from Knight Lab, this digital humanities project illustrates cultural and historical elements from Jane Austen’s life which she mentions in her letters. The accompanying photographs and videos are freely available through Creative Commons and YouTube.

Jodi A. Devine is a Research and Education Librarian at Providence College in Rhode Island, where she works with students and faculty at the research desk and teaches information literacy classes. She has a Ph.D. in English and teaches composition, literature, and first-year experience courses. Devine recently finished cataloging a large and eclectic manuscript collection for a private collector and is halfway through the MLIS program at SJSU.
