Emily Drabinski is critical pedagogy librarian and liaison to the School of Labor and Urban Studies at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She sits on the editorial boards of College & Research Libraries and Radical Teacher, and edits Gender and Sexuality in Information Studies, a book series from Library Juice Press/Litwin Books. Drabinski is an ALA Councilor at Large and chair of ALA’s International Relations Committee. Her research interests include critical approaches to cataloging and classification work, power and the library classroom, and the role of organized labor in justice movements. Prior to joining CUNY, Drabinski was a librarian at Long Island University, Brooklyn, where she was secretary and then president of that institution’s faculty union.
