Unity3d and Second Life: From Pretty Spaces to Learning “Experiences”

Webcast

John Jamison, of ImagiLearning, Inc., will speak on Unity3d and Second Life. Unity3d offers educators using Second Life and OpenSim an opportunity to create more sophisticated activities, and increase accessibility to those activities. However, simply creating “pretty” virtual environments does not necessarily hold learner interest, or enhance the learning that occurs. This session explores an approach to designing Unity3d virtual learning activities that match the “virtual creation” with the learning goals, resulting in a learner experience that increases motivation and learning.
