Dr. Michele Villagran will participate in a panel discussion for the Private Law Librarians & Information Professionals SIS (PLLIP-SIS) DEI Committee and the Black Law Librarians SIS (BLL-SIS) 2025 Diversity Summit: No DEI or New DEI: Reimagining the Next Few Years. On January 21, 2025, President Trump signed the executive order titled “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity.” Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Considering these changes, supporting each other, and reinforcing our commitment to fairness and equality are more important than ever. The fifth annual virtual Diversity Summit will continue this timely conversation relative to the metamorphosis of DEI, how it continues to change and what is in store for the future of DEI.
