Horror Literature Through the Ages

Horror Literature Through the Ages: This Subject Guide focuses on the evolution of the horror genre in literary fiction. Aimed at undergraduates in the English and Comparative Literature department at San José State University, the guide provides a curated selection of reference resources, academic journals, landmark literature, audiovisual content, and database search techniques. It helps students identify key authors and works, understand search strategies, and find scholarly resources on Gothic and horror literature. Acknowledging the European-centric canon, the guide includes diverse authors and sources exploring the genre’s relationship with race. The paper discusses the challenges of selecting niche journals, designing for user-friendly navigation, and ensuring accessibility within the LibGuides content management system.
