Dr. Romelia Salinas
Dean of Library and Learning Resources, Mt. San Antonio College
Dr. Romelia Salinas serves as the dean of library and learning resources at Mt. San Antonio College in Los Angeles California. She is also the 2022-2023 national president of REFORMA, the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish speaking.
Dr. Salinas has worked in higher education libraries for more than 30 years as staff, faculty, and now as an administrator. She earned a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Library Information and Information Science, both from UCLA. She also holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Law and Society and Chicano/a Studies from U.C. Santa Barbara.
Her research interests focus on the digital divide, representation in digital content, information barriers, and information services to marginalized communities. During her professional career, Dr. Salinas has been elected to leadership positions in national and state library associations.
She is a proud first generation daughter of immigrant parents who seeks to insert excluded voices into library and information services.
