Social Media and Trust in Government
Trust in government fell globally 14% since 2013. At the same time, trust in information provided through new media rose. In this presentation, Dr. Franks provides insight into the use of social media by local governments in the U.S. and Canada and the impact that use can have on citizen trust in government. Examples taken from a review of local government social media initiatives will be presented.
