The Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives is actively seeking an Electronic Records Archivist to oversee the management and preservation of born-digital records sourced from various congressional communication channels. This full-time, Washington, DC–based position reports to the Records Management team and carries an annual salary band of $95,045–$122,648, with the posting marked as open until filled.

In this crucial role, you’ll design workflows for ingesting emails, social media archives, legislative documents, and web content. You’ll work closely with IT specialists, metadata librarians, and legal advisors to ensure compliance with the Federal Records Act. The job balances hands-on digital curation with strategic planning—developing taxonomy models, establishing transfer schedules, and creating access policies for public release.

Based in the heart of democracy, this role offers a front-row seat to the evolution of digital government, with responsibilities that directly impact transparency and historical recordkeeping. It’s an ideal position for an archivist passionate about the intersection of technology, public policy, and historical stewardship.
