RIM Building Blocks
It is essential that one learn the many Building Blocks to become a successful RIM professional. This begins with the basics including: what is a record, a records lifecycle, records retention schedules, policies and procedures, vital records, storage and archiving, disposition and preservation. The next Building Block of RIM is focused on electronic records including: what are they, what their unique challenges are, and how are they effectively included in a RIM program. The third Building Block of RIM is focused on why we have RIM programs and how to keep them relevant including: why they are established, legal and regulatory requirements, benchmarking and assessments. The final Building Block of RIM is continued development including: continuing education, certifications, and building critical relationships and networking.
