Workshop Wednesday: Nichols House Museum — Julie Linsdell & Georgia Linsdell Enders Research Fellowship, Summer 2026
Explore women’s history, archival research, and material culture in Boston this summer
Published by Andrew Wiegert, November 19th, 2025
The Nichols House Museum in Boston is offering its Julie Linsdell and Georgia Linsdell Enders Research Fellowship for Summer 2026—a paid, project-based fellowship designed for scholars, graduate students, and museum professionals interested in women’s history, decorative arts, and early 20th-century social reform. Working from the Nichols family’s Beacon Hill home, fellows conduct original research tied to the museum’s mission, which centers on the life and legacy of landscape architect and social reformer Rose Standish Nichols (1872–1960).
The project culminates in a tangible public deliverable such as an exhibition concept, interpretive essay, or digital humanities tool (e.g., interactive map or online database). Past fellows have explored topics like the Arts & Crafts Movement, women’s activism, and Boston’s domestic interiors. This is more than an academic exercise—it’s a rare chance to merge archival inquiry with real-world impact in a historic urban setting
