LTI Moxie
Moxie
Why Libraries?
The Moxie Robot, with its AI-driven emotion regulation and early childhood education curriculum, provides libraries with a relatively low barrier of entry to exploring AI-powered educational tools.
Overview
With its conversational AI-powered software platform, Moxie is designed for early childhood development. The Moxie robot supports social and emotional development through play and conversation. A soft-bodied gesticulating robot with simulated emotions, Moxie leverages behavioral analytics to learn from its interactions with children as they develop personalized play-based learning missions.
Use Cases
- Emotional intelligence: Moxie can bolster social and communication skills with an artificial intelligence system that learns from and tailors an experience for an individual child.
- Storytime: Moxie is an active listener and could be used to host an event where children are encouraged to tell stories to Moxie. Through role-playing, Moxie can also share stories fostering age-appropriate good moral values, manners, and behavioral habits. The library can also organize programs, including contests and prizes for kids who learn with Moxie and demonstrate proven good character traits at home, school, and beyond.
- Journal Challenge: Each month, the library can focus on a character trait (love, empathy, responsibility, respect, teamwork, citizenship, etc.). Moxie can encourage kids to keep a journal in which they write about good deeds, people they are grateful for, and such, helping them cultivate a good character.
