Ryan Gan
Systems Librarian / Assistant Professor, El Camino College
Ryan Gan has worked as an academic reference librarian, a public library teen/young adult librarian, and a public library branch manager. He then pivoted into a new role as a systems and technical services librarian for El Camino College, a job he’s held (and thrived in!) for nearly three years. Gan graduated from the SJSU School of Information with an MLIS degree.
Beth Wrenn-Estes
Lecturer, San José State University School of Information
Beth Wrenn-Estes is a lecturer at the San José State University School of Information. She has been teaching courses in the youth services career pathway of the iSchool’s MLIS program for twelve years. Previously, she worked at Lone Tree Library in Douglas County, Colorado as a youth services librarian and was responsible for both programming and services. Fueled by her passion for libraries and youth, Wrenn-Estes is currently researching Early Childhood Literacy and Learning in library and non-library environments.
Kim Dority
Founder and President of Dority & Associates
Kim Dority, MLIS, is president of Dority Associates, an information strategy and content development practice she founded in 2000. In addition, she works with students and alumni for the San José State University iSchool program as their consulting career coach while also teaching as an adjunct instructor for the Kent State University School of Information MLIS program. She has authored dozens of articles and several books on LIS career topics, most notably Rethinking Information Work: A Career Guide for Librarians and Other Information Professionals, 2d ed (2016). Dr. David Loertscher
Professor, San José State University
David V. Loertscher has degrees from the University of Utah, the University of Washington and a Ph.D. from Indiana University. He has been a school library media specialist in Nevada and Idaho at both the elementary and secondary school levels. He has taught at Purdue University, The University of Arkansas, The University of Oklahoma, and is presently a professor at the School of Information at San José State University.
