The San José State University School of Information sponsored a
community poster session featuring alumni and student speakers
during the California Library Association’s annual conference
held in November 2018.
Graduate students who are currently enrolled in a Master of Library and
Information Science degree program accredited by the American
Library Association, or have graduated within the past two years,
are encouraged to apply for the 2019 Innovative Librarians Award.
The San José State University School of Information welcomes
Kansas Historical Society State Archivist Matt Veatch to the
Master of Archives and Records Administration Advisory Board.
Two graduates of the San José State University School of Information have been elected as members-at-large to the California Library Association. Chris Brown and Emily Weak, who graduated in 2010 and 2011, respectively, begin their terms in November 2018.
The San José State University School of
Information has become the 97th member of the
iSchools organization, a
consortium of information schools dedicated to advancing the
information profession and supporting the iSchool
Movement.
The twelfth graduate has completed the San
José State Gateway PhD program, a partnership program between
the San José State University School of Information and
Queensland University of Technology.
The applause will be booming during the 2018 California Library
Association conference next month in Santa Clara, California. In
addition to participating in conference sessions and events, the
San José State University School of Information will have a large
presence during the awards dinner.
Ten San José State University School of Information students and
alumni presented posters on their projects and research during
the American Library Association’s 2018 annual conference in New
Orleans.
Blockchain technology may be the wave of the future in libraries,
and Drs. Sue
Alman and Sandra
Hirsh of the San José State University School of
Information want to help bring it to the forefront of
professional discussion and implementation through a book in the
American Library Association’s Library Futures series.
