The School of Information offers a variety of types of support for graduate-level writing. A writing tutor is available to iSchool students who would like review their work with a specialist. See the link below for details.
For quick questions, contact a writing tutor through the “Ask a Tutor” live chat service. This service is for questions that can be answered in 5 – 15 minutes. No appointment is necessary but please see hours of availability below.
Ask a Tutor is available during the following hours (beginning Aug. 24):
- Mondays: 10am – 3pm
- Tuesdays: 10am – 1pm; 2pm – 4 pm
- Wednesdays: 10am – 5pm
- Thursdays: 10am – 1pm; 2pm – 4 pm
- Fridays: 12pm – 3pm

Our Writing Specialists (tutors) are students who have met a rigorous GPA requirement and are highly trained at SJSU’s Writing Center. Writing Specialists can help you organize your paper, cite sources, avoid plagiarism, and use correct grammar and punctuation.
